AUGUST 11, 2008 The Legislative Council meeting was called to order at 11:10 a.m. by Senator Kim Elton, Chair, nd in the Anchorage LIO 2 Floor Conference room and via teleconference. 1. ROLL CALL The roll was taken. In attendance were Council members: Senators Elton, Cowdery, Davis, Green (via teleconference), and Stevens; Representatives Coghill (via teleconference), Stoltze, Wilson (via teleconference), and Guttenberg (via teleconference). Absent members were Senators Hoffman and Wilken; Representatives Dahlstrom, Harris, and Samuels. Staff present: Varni, Bressette, Clothier, Gullufsen, Ibesate, Johnston, Lesh, and Schofield Others present: Wayne Jensen 2. APPROVAL OF JULY 28, 2008 MINUTES Senator Stevens moved that Legislative Council approve the minutes of the July 28, 2008 Council meeting as presented. YEAS: Elton, Cowdery, Davis, Green, Stevens, Coghill, Stoltze, Wilson, and Guttenberg NAYS: None The motion passed 9-0. 3. LATE PER DIEM CLAIM FOR REPRESENTATIVE CRAIG JOHNSON Senator Stevens moved that Legislative Council approve the late per diem claim for Representative Craig Johnson. YEAS: Elton, Cowdery, Davis, Green, Stevens, Coghill, Stoltze, Wilson, and Guttenberg NAYS: None The motion passed 9-0. 4. AWARD OF ITB 453 - GENERAL CONTRACTOR CAPITOL ANNEX REMODEL Senator Stevens moved that Legislative Council award ITB 453 to Silver Bow Construction for the remodel of the Capitol Annex in the amount of $4,446,000 from existing legislative capital funds. Discussion followed. Roll was taken. YEAS: Elton, Cowdery, Davis, Green, Stevens, Coghill, Wilson, and Guttenberg NAYS: Stoltze The motion passed 8-1. Senator Elton noted that it was a pleasure to be here at the end of this process [for the Capitol Annex remodel] and offered his thanks for the work done by the former Chair, Senator Cowdery, as well as the other Council members. 5. OTHER BUSINESS There was no other business. The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
